I think that as of today I have seen everything that you could imagine seeing on the Internet. Say hello to kitty, as in Hello Kitty Online.

You are probably wondering why I am writing about Hello Kitty World and there is good reason.

Here is your chance to hang out and socialize in "cartoonland". It appears that Hello Kitty World is a combination of virtual social networking and MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game). I’m still scratching my head and wondering if Hello Kitty is geared toward children, adults or both.

If Second Life isn’t your cup of tea and you like online role-playing games then perhaps Hello Kitty World is for you. Personally, I will pass on it. I’m just not into cutesy cartoon online games. But then again that’s just me.

I do think that it will have a broad appeal for those that are into MMORPG’s and virtual worlds. I don’t think it will compete directly with Linden Lab’s Second Life, being that Second Life is not centered around a game.

Hello Kitty World is offering a closed beta signup that you can register for if you are so inclined. Apparently, 30,000 users have signed up, so maybe there is something to Hello Kitty World. I’ll let you be the judge.
