Iminta does the Twitter thing too

iminta-l

You know Iminta does Twitter, right?

It doesn’t take five million dollars in funding to push items to Twitter. I am curious as to why FriendFeed is getting so much attention from the A-list bloggers. It is an aggregator for heaven’s sake, not a profound new technology from the distant future.

I have nothing against FriendFeed, however it isn’t the only cool aggregator on the block either. In case no one has yet “discovered” this, Iminta allows you to post to Twitter from your profile as well as several other features.

Iminta Features you may not be aware of

Bookmarklets – It allows you to add anything you want without posting it on Digg, del.icio.us, etc.

Get Inta It – You can copy items from a friends "inta" lists to you own without having to go through another service (aka clipping), it also displays the attribution of whom it was copied from.

Editable Titles and Descriptions – Fix typos that the original poster may have made.

Comment follow-ups via email – you have the option of being notified when someone replies to comments you make on your friends items.

Post Twitter replies back to Twitter

I wonder if the A-listers have tried Iminta, or are they running around in circles doing what the other A-listers are doing? (I was going to use the “dogs sniffing other dogs butts” analogy but decided to be nice).

I would like to see more discussion on Iminta versus FriendFeed. What do you like/dislike about either?

I had the same feeling yesterday, but I thought of SocialThing which reponds to twitter as well. I cannot comment on other functionality as I have not researched all this yet. I think with FriendFeed getting a big chunk of VC capital, it becomes very visible. The A-listers probably feel that the VCs might be onto something, and "blindly" jump on the wagon.

Hi Rob,
I just got access to SocialThing so i will take a look later today, this week has been rife with busy work. Who cares about who funds who, lot's of money does always make a good product or service. I look beyond who's behind a site and what they site can do for me (solve my problem or issue).

Friendfeed has made so much noise because it has a strong community behind it. Also, the developers are quick to respond to problems that community has voiced and rolls out updates just as quickly. Overall though, there are some great conversations going on over at Friendfeed. Even though it's a social aggregator, it's rapidly becoming a social network portal too!

As for Iminta, this is honestly my first time hearing of it. It just hasn't reached certain circles yet. I'm checking it out now though and hopefully it's something I can look forward to.
